Successful Ribbon Cutting at Expanded Peachtree Park Nature Trail

Moms and babies in strollers joined District 7 Councilman Howard Shook and a variety of other neighbors and city officials in marking the official opening of the new Burke mini-park at the entrance to the Peachtree Park Nature Trail on Nov. 2. The crowd of about 30 people enjoyed refreshments and cookies while children played on the new city-approved benches and 10 new fit stations in the park.  The park improvements were funded by Friends of Peachtree Park, supported by a $10,000 matching grant from Park Pride and a $2,000 grant for invasives removal from NPU-B. They represent the first phase of a five-year Master Plan for the Nature Trail. Friends of Peachtree Park is a charitable organization organized by neighborhood residents to support capital improvements to the greenspaces of Peachtree Park. Donations are tax-deductible. For additional information, contact Robin Finley at 404-314-8929."
